BOOK "LEE GALE GRUEN" TO SPEAK AT YOUR EVENT
SPEECHES TO RETIREE GROUPS:
I speak publicly on "Reinventing Yourself in Your Retirement Years" with the goal of helping
baby boomers, seniors, and those facing retirement find joy, excitement, and purpose in their
lives after they retire.
SPEECHES TO BUSINESSES:
I speak about what baby boomers, seniors, and those facing retirement fear about retiring,
what they want in their lives, and how to find it. The secret to marketing to this demographic is to
first sell yourself instead of your product. If you demonstrate that you understand and care about
them, they will be more inclined to listen to your sales pitch.
AUTHOR TALK/BOOK SIGNINGS:
I discuss my self-help book for retirees and seniors: Reinventing Yourself in Your
Retirement Years: Find Joy, Excitement, and Purpose After You Retire or my memoir: Adventures with Dad: A Father and Daughter's Journey Through a Senior Acting Class. I follow that with a Q&A. Finally, I conduct the sale of the books and autograph them for purchasers.
THE LA BREA TAR PITS
I was a docent tour guide for several years at the world famous La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles,
CA. I speak about the tar pits themselves: their characteristics, how they got there, and how they
trapped and preserved the bones of Ice Age animals. I also talk about the Ice Age animal
skeletons housed inside of the Page Museum which is on the grounds of La Brea Tar Pits.

BOOK: Reinventing Yourself in Your Retirement Years: Find Joy, Excitement, and Purpose After You Retire
SYNOPSIS: Have you retired or are about to and have no clue what to do next? Don't succumb to isolation and
depression as so many have. Not a one-size-fits-all approach, this book offers an individualized guide for retirees and
seniors in this new stage of their life based on their own likes and comfort level. It offers ways to identify what might
interest you and suggests numerous activities and pursuits as well as how and where to find them. The author learned
the secret the hard way and finally transitioned from retired probation officer to actress, author, guest speaker, and
blogger. Audience members at her lectures on senior reinvention requested a book on the subject. Here are the content
of those talks and six years of posts from her blog of the same name. Her lectures, blog, and this book are all titled the
same: Reinventing Yourself in Your Retirement Years. Don't waste away in an unfulfilling retirement. This book could
have a major impact on the rest of your life.
BOOK: Adventures with Dad: A Father and Daughter's Journey Through a Senior Acting Class (Memoir)
SYNOPSIS: Lee Gale Gruen retired at age 60 from her 37-year career as a probation officer and just for fun started
attending an acting class for seniors. A few weeks later, her mother died, and she invited her grieving, 85-year-old
father to come to the class with her. They attended for three years, bonding more than ever. Her memoir includes the
six comedy scenes she wrote and performed with her father in the class showcases twice a year onstage in front of live
audiences. She, then, transitioned into the world of professional acting. As her fledgling, second career started going
uphill, her dad's health started going downhill. She would recount to him each of her new experiences while she sat
beside his bed at the nursing home where he resided in his final years.
